Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh today visitedNorth Kashmir’s Kupwara District where he chaired officers meeting and reviewedthe security scenario of the District. The DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir,Shri S.P Pani.

On his arrival the DGP was received by GoC 28 Div, ShriAmardeep Singh Aujala and SSP Kupwara, Shri Ram Ambarker and ceremonial guardof honour was presented by police contingent at DPO Kupwara.

The DGP while addressing officers meeting at District Policeoffice Kupwara said that the joint efforts of all the security forces hashelped in minimizing the terrorist activities and added that we need to bestrategically very strong to put an end to terrorism so that long-lasting peaceis provided to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. DGP appreciated the efforts ofJ&K Police and other security agencies for maintaining law and order in thedistrict.

Complimenting the role of JKP and other security agenciesfor maintaining the peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir, the DGP said it waschallenging and daunting task, but due to sincere and effective efforts of allsecurity agencies, the situation was handled in a very professional manner. Hesaid that we need to continue our mission with even more dedication to ensure apeaceful and secure environment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Stressing upon better coordination among all sisteragencies, the DGP said that to foil any attempt by the trouble makers lookingto disrupt the peaceful atmosphere, close liaison should be maintained at everylevel and the officers supervising different components should be briefedaccordingly. He directed the officers to keep an eye on the activities ofanti-national elements and mount pressure on their nefarious designs.

The DGP stressed on maintaining alertness on the borders andalso in the hinterland for which he advised strengthening of nakas to check themovement of trouble mongers. He also advised for sharing intelligence inputs inthis regard and joint patrolling of all the security formations.

Referring to the welfare of police personnel, the DGPdirected the officers to ensure implementation of all existing welfare measuresfor the serving police personnel and the families of martyrs on a prioritybasis. He said that more welfare measures will hopefully be introduced infuture.

Earlier, SSP Kupwara Shri Ram Ambarker apprised the DGPabout the security scenario and measures taken for maintaining peace and orderin the district.
